Invoice Accrual
Definition
Recording an expense in the accounting period when goods or services were received, even if the invoice has not yet arrived.
Why it matters operationally
Month-end close depends on accruals for late invoices. Linking accruals to contracts and POs reduces misstated liabilities and duplicate payments when invoices appear.
